Will Private Investigators still need to gain an SIA licence?
At present they do not and the SIA schedule to commence licensing from September 2006 has been delayed. See the SIA website for further updates

Do Edexcel still intend to offer a Private Investigation qualification?
Yes. The SIA have developed the competencies for Private Investigators and these will be published on the SIA website shortly. Edexcel intend to develop a BTEC Certificate in Private Investigation based on these competencies. The qualification should be available from late 2006/early 2007.
